MKWeb Makes Top 10 for the 3rd year Running |

In the 7th Annual survey of local government websites MKWeb was ranked 9th out of 528 official city information websites. When weighted by population the results were an even more impressive 5th position. This is the third year in a row that the official site for Milton Keynes and North Bucks has left cities such as Manchester, Birmingham and even Westminster trailing in its wake.
MKWeb managing director Tony Sellers is in no doubt as to the reasons for Milton Keynes success:
"Milton Keynes is a dynamic place that embraces new technology. The unique partnership with Milton Keynes Council that enables MKWeb to offer a one-stop shop for local information is the envy of other towns and cities around the UK. The fact that we are improving our position year on year shows that this partnership works and we are continuing to improve. We will shortly be making proposals to MKC to create new online facilities that will further enhance the service that citizens of Milton Keynes receive via MKWeb"
Cllr David Hopkins, the Milton Keynes Council e-champion commented, 'MK Web is a community based portal with content from local people, with a focus on local people and of interest to anyone living in, doing business with or visiting Milton Keynes. MK Council takes great pride in the success of the MKWeb and looks forward to developing more citizen focused web solutions in the months and years to come'.
MKWeb is now in its eighth year and continues to grow and develop as the definitive guide to Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. Its unique design enables organizations across the region to contribute and maintain their own information within MKWeb creating a dynamic and information rich site.
In November 2004 MKWeb delivered just over 2.2 million pages of information, and increased its audience to over one million visitors a new record figure.
