Portal Constructor runs on a Windows 2000 Server platform. It supports Microsoft SQL Server as its data source with a Microsoft Access version also available.
Any PC supporting Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or above may be used for editing and maintaining content. No special hardware is required for hosting.
It is possible to host a Portal Constructor site on modest server technology, MKWeb ran on a Pentium 2 330Mhz computer for the first 2 years of its life.
Apollo also offer a hosted solution from their high speed servers located on the UK Internet backbone.
