North West Leicestershire District Council chose Portal Constructor to power their community facing web site as a key component of their e-gov agenda implimentation.
Information on www.nwleics.gov.uk includes sections on Sport & Leisure, Tourism, What`s On and Business, plus details on services provided by the District Council and a special area for the younger generation.
Malcolm Diaper, Chief Executive of North West Leicestershire District Council and the authority`s lead officer for E-Government, said: "The demands of E-Government made it essential that we had a new website that we can continue to develop.
One of the great benefits of the system we are using is that the public can contribute to the site in many ways."
Apollo specialises in providing software to local authorities and its longest running Portal is www.MKWeb.co.uk. It is supported by a number of local community partners including Milton Keynes Council. This is one of the largest community sites in the country with more than 1,000 contributors, 10,000 articles and delivers around 750,000 pages a month to the Milton Keynes community.
