Your Council

In these pages you can get information about your local councillors, council committees and have access to council agendas, reports and minutes through CMIS an online meetings information system. You will also find information about how the Council functions - this is called the Council's Constitution, and how decisions are made - the Scheme of Delegation, and the Cabinet's Forward Plan of Decisions. There is also information on MPs and MEP's as well as a link to electoral information.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes is chosen each year at the Annual Council Meeting (usually in May). During his or her year in office the Mayor is the First Citizen of Milton Keynes and as such is an ambassador for the town and for the Council.

The Forward Plan details the Decisions which are to be taken by the Cabinet, Individual Members and Officers during the period covered by the Plan.

Part of the work of the Council's Scrutiny Committees is to set up review groups to investigate specific issues that may be of interest or concern to a Scrutiny Committee. This may necessitate a review of current policy, practice or procedure to see if the service that is provided to MK citizens could be improved in some way. more...
